The Partnership, Inc., Successfully Matches $50,000
Challenge Grant from Coeur Alaska – Kensington Mine
For New Juneau Arts & Culture Center (JACC)
The Partnership, Inc., the non-profit which exists for the purpose of raising the funds necessary to build the New Juneau Arts & Culture Center (JACC) is pleased to announce the successful completion of fundraising efforts to match a major donation from Coeur Alaska – Kensington Mine to support the ongoing capital campaign to build the New JACC.

Coeur Alaska, owner and operator of the Kensington Mine, announced at the end of 2018 its plans to donate $50,000 to the New JACC on the condition that the Partnership raise an equal amount of money for this important project. The Partnership eagerly accepted this challenge, knowing that such a matching opportunity would not only bring in a significant funds but also serve as an incentive to encourage other donors to participate in the New JACC Capital Campaign. Coeur Alaska – Kensington Mine’s long history of generously contributing to Southeast Alaskan communities continues apace with this extremely helpful major donation.

Since the beginning of 2019, the New JACC Partnership Capital Campaign has continued steadily onward towards the goal of building a dedicated arts and culture facility for Alaska’s Capital City. There are now 110 major donors who have contributed amounts greater than $10,000 alongside substantial grants from an array of businesses and foundations.

Mark Kiessling, General Manager for Coeur Alaska – Kensington Mine, will present a check to Ruth Kostik, Treasurer of the Partnership Board of Directors, at the first Summer Block Party of 2019 on Friday, June 7th at the JACC. Kiessling said, “We at Coeur Alaska value the Juneau Arts & Humanities Council’s role in ensuring the quality of life in Juneau, and are pleased to see that our contribution has been successfully matched.”

Kostik noted, “The Partnership is so grateful to Coeur Alaska – Kensington Mine for this wonderful contribution which brings us ever closer to our goal. Every dollar is crucially important, and the message this sends to the business community is equally valuable in spurring more participation that will make the New JACC a reality.”
