JUNEAU, AK–The Partnership, Inc., the non-profit which exists for the purpose of raising the funds necessary to build the New Juneau Arts & Culture Center (New JACC), announces Robert (Bob) Banghart has been named Executive Director of the New JACC project. Bob is the principal and owner of Banghart & Associates, a firm whose focus has been the development of museums and cultural facilities throughout Alaska. From 2011–2017, he served as Deputy Director of the Division of Libraries, Archives and Museums for the State of Alaska in a leadership role in the development of the Father Andrew P. Kashevaroff State Library, Archives and Museum Building. More recently, he has served as the Program Manager for the New JACC. “Working with the Partnership in developing the new Juneau Arts and Culture Center has been an outstanding experience in a number of respects but I have been most impressed with the dedication and drive the volunteers, staff, Board and supporters bring to the table.”

He succeeds Katharine Heumann who held the position for the last four years and who will continue to work with the organization in a new capacity – special projects manager. “Reviewing the last four years,” noted Katharine, “I can wholeheartedly say that the scope of my work on the New JACC is at the top of my career experiences. It has been both an honor and an inspiration and it is with great trust and admiration that I pass the baton to Bob Banghart.”

The Partnership, Inc. continues its efforts to build a dedicated arts and culture facility for Alaska’s Capital City and John Clough, a director on the Partnership Board, shared “Katharine Heumann has been a vital advocate in a number of roles for the New JACC since its inception and as Executive Director worked tirelessly for the project. Now, as the project looks forward to completing its fundraising and moving into final design and construction, Bob’s unique skill set and experience in those areas will be invaluable. The Board is fortunate to have Bob Banghart serving as our new Executive Director.”

In closing, Bob added “ I am honored by the trust the group has put in me and thankful for the great work done by Katharine and crew guiding me as we begin 2020. Much work lays ahead but I am confident in our success. As Mark Twain aptly put it, ‘They did not know it was impossible so they did it’.”
